Martha shared a lovely Bow Tie quilt on her blog, Q is for Quilter: http://www.qisforquilter.com/2009/02/bow-tie-quilt/. It sounds like she bought some vintage Bow Tie blocks on eBay and she had to completely disassemble and reassemble each block to replace the stained pieces with fresh fabric. I think it was worth all her effort - the result is stunning!
Check out the images on Martha's blog post and you'll also notice that she used a square for the knot instead of the two triangles. Here's what she says: "This is the 5-piece traditional pattern which is usually hand pieced because of the set-in pieces. You can machine sew this block if you use the 6-piece pattern with the 2 little triangles to form the knot, but it just doesn’t look right to me — I think the knot piece should be square." I love the square knot!
I learn so much from you, amazing quilters! Thanks for sharing your quilting experiences!

I love this adorable Bow Tie quilt that's the backdrop to the portrait of her son's monkeys on Creative Mama's Flickr photostream! Here's the direct link to her photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28371452@N08/2640766552/
